RPMinerals supplies a wide range of products used as drilling fluid additives for both water base and oil base drilling fluid systems.

RPMinerals produce API-grade barite under the trade name AMCOBAR

 

RPMinerals produces API-section 9 bentonite under the trade name RP GEL 9 and produce API Section 11 bentonite under the trade name RP GEL 11.

 

Are used to increase viscosity for improved hole cleaning, to increase bentonite yield and to clarify or de-water low solids drilling fluids. Flocculants cause colloidal particles in suspension to group into clusters or flocs causing solids to settle out. Flocculants commonly used in the oilfield include:

  • Drill Salt (Brine), NaCl, Sodium Chloride
  • KCL, Potassium Chloride
  • Hydrated Lime, Calcium Hydroxide
  • Gypsum, Calcium Sulphate
  • Soda Ash, Sodium Carbonate

Used to increase viscosity for better hole cleaning and suspension of solids.

  • Oil based drilling fluids:

    RPMinerals manufactures a full range of organophilic clay products including organophilic bentonite under the BENTOIL trade name and organophylic attapulgite under the ATTOIL trade name. These products are used as viscosifiers and gelling agents in oil base drilling fluids to increase carrying capacity and suspension properties, providing cost effective removal of cuttings.
