RP-Bentonite is used as a drilling mud in civil work

Depending on thixotropic properties, viscosity, gel strength and filtration control ability of  RP-Bentonite, it can be used as drilling fluids for drilling in all civil works.

• The functions of drilling fluids in civil work include:

1- Removal of cuttings from the bore hole.

2- Support the excavation by exerting hydro-static pressure on walls to prevent

collapsing.

3- Reduction of fluid loss and acting as a sealant to the walls of excavation and not

flow into the soil.

4- Prevention of cuttings from settling down when circulation stops.

5- Lubrication and cooling of the drilling bit and string.

• RP bentonite is used in Pile Foundation and in Diaphragm walls as well.
